The Three Levels of CFA Exams

CFA Eligibility Requirements
Academic Qualification
To enroll in the CFA Program, you must meet ONE of the following requirements:

- Final year undergraduate: Be in the final year of your bachelor's degree program
- Professional experience: Have 4,000 hours of qualified work experience (approximately 4 years full-time)
- Combination: Have a combination of professional work and college experience that totals at least 4,000 hours
Professional Conduct Admission Criteria
All candidates must:
- Meet professional conduct admission criteria as outlined in the CFA Institute Professional Conduct Statement
- Hold an international travel passport (required for exam day identification)
- Reside in a country where it is possible to take the exam
- Participate in the CFA Program in English
